This weekend brings along a number of food-related events to keep you out of trouble. Or not. 5. Oktoberfest at the American German Club

Oktoberfest may be well over with in Germany, but it is raging on in Lake Worth. The 39th Oktoberfest, which continues all weekend and returns again next weekend, kicks off Friday night. Held on ten acres, under a tent, the event will feature traditional German dancing, choral singing, and sing-alongs with bands from Germany. Traditional German fare will be served alongside Munich's own Hofbrau beer. Tickets are $8 for adults, children under 12 are free. The event runs from 5:00 to 11:00pm. 

4. Surfrider Foundation's 80's Beach Party
Surfers, environmentalists, and 80's lovers alike, are invited to attend the Surfrider Foundation's 80's themed beach party at E.R. Bradley's in West Palm Beach. The event, intended to support RAPtoberfest--Surfrider's newest campaign Rise Above Plastics--takes place on Saturday at 7pm. Contests and prizes will be presented, including a raffle for a new surfboard and Matisyahu tickets for best 80's outfit.

3. Learn to Dance "Gangnam Style"
Soo Woo Japanese and Korean Steakhouse is celebrating the grand opening of the Hollywood location and giving back to charity: all while trying to invade south Florida with a Korean dance craze. The opening, which takes place at the new location Saturday at 10:30 am, will feature beauty queens and local dance instructors teaching the gangnam style dance fad. Miss Florida USA and Miss Hollywood USA will join with a dozen dancers from the Patricia Penenori Dance Center to teach participants how to dance gangnam style. For every participant, Soo Woo will donate $1 to Art and Cultural Center of Hollywood. The first one-hundred dancers will receive a gift-certificate good for a lunch entree, salad, and drink, valid until the end of the month.

2. Waiter's Race at Pistache
Ever wonder what it's like to run around with a tray full of drinks? No? Well, you can still watch or try for yourself at Pistache's annual waiter's race this Sunday. The event, which takes place at the Waterfront park, will involve servers from several local restaurants competing for cash, prizes, and the The Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte Trophy. The amateur race begins at 3:30 pm, followed by the professional race at 3:45pm. Whichever waiter crosses the finish line first with a dry tray wins.

1. Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser at Salsa Fiesta
Like brunch? Dislike cancer? This Sunday, from 10:00 am to noon, Salsa Fiesta will feature a brunch fundraiser to benefit the Memorial Breast Cancer Center. For $10 at the door, the brunch will include a buffet and a complimentary mimosa. Children under twelve are free.
