At this time of year, South Floridians usually start bemoaning the extended summer, wishing the humidity would die down and the heat finally break once and for all. Fortunately the new Barnsider restaurant (6751 N. Federal Hwy., Boca Raton, 561-988-1355) presents a reason to celebrate the fact that summer lingers: Maine lobster specials. One-and-one-quarter pounders go for $10.95; twins are available for $18.95. If you don't believe that an eatery named after a structure that houses future steaks can produce a succulent lobster, hedge your bets and get one with a sirloin. The Barnsider is actually a reincarnation of the old Fort Lauderdale restaurant Raindancer, which had to move when its building started to crumble. So while regulars may now have to travel a bit farther north, the lobster specials certainly compensate for what any Browardite has to spend on gas.
