There's no joy left in flying. You arrive at the airport rushed and cranky at least two hours before your scheduled flight so you can partially disrobe in front of strangers and get that brand new bottle of contact lens solution confiscated because it's slightly too large.
Once you're past TSA screening, there's not much to do except grab a bite or a drink. Even with the knowledge that all airport food is overpriced and over processed, we still eagerly purchase a coffee or a beer. But what if you're in the mood for a meal or a crafted cocktail? You won't be going here:

If you're traveling out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport or Palm Beach International Airport, you're out of luck, according to The Daily Meal.
The culinary website released a list of the 11 Worst Airports for Food and FLL and PBI both made the list for "best of the worst".
According to Lauren Mack of The Daily Meal, only airports considered the world's busiest were considered for the list, eliminating "smaller, developing countries like Nigeria and smaller regions that are popular with travelers like Tibet (although in my travels I spent several hours in a lovely coffee house located inside Nanyuki Airfield in Kenya)".
After the initial list was generated, The Daily Meal then consulted travel editors, business travelers, and food experts in order to get the "best of the worst" from a preliminary list of 100 airports to generate their list of the 11 most disappointing dining for air travelers.
Unfortunately, Florida fared worse than anywhere in the world. Palm Beach International Airport was ranked number six on this list with three airports making an uneasy landing on the roster: Palm Bach International Airport (number 6); Orlando International Airport (number 8); and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (number 11). Only China came close to Florida, with two airports making the (bad) grade. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was listed as the third worst airport for food and Beijing Capital International Airport received the dubious distinction of being named the worst airport if you're hangry.
We reached out to representatives at FLL and PBI for comment, but our calls weren't returned.
Fortunately for travelers at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, there's a massive expansion of choices in the works, with over two dozen new restaurants, including a Margaritaville Cafe and a BurgerFi planned. The bad news? Completion isn't expected until 2017.
