Pairing dinners are all the rage right now. From local craft brews and boutique bottles of wine to hand-crafted cocktails, there seems to be no end to the limitless combinations you can make with food and drink.

But what about food and cigars?

Fort Lauderdale's Neptune Cigars will host its first cigar pairing dinner this weekend, offering fans of cigars -- and good food and drink -- a unique opportunity to enhance the experience of enjoying food, drink, and cigars together.

On Saturday, November 1, Neptune Cigars will offer its first cigar pairing dinner, a formal four-course plated dinner catered by Thierry's Catering. Each course will be accompanied by a hand-selected cigar from Drew Estate, makers of Acid Cigars, Liga Privada, Herrera Estate, and more.

"Not many people realize that cigars have an amazing array of flavors," said Luz Normand, co-owner of Neptune Cigars. "Because you don't smoke them -- you taste them -- the idea to do a pairing dinner offers a unique opportunity to explore the range of flavors of each cigar, alongside food and drink."

Neptune Cigars is an online retailer of premium cigars with two locations, in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The store provides a vast array of cigars for 10 to 40 percent less than retail price.

Cigar aficionados might be interested in the cigar selection over the food: Two of the four cigars are unreleased and will be available only through private events such as this pairing dinner. Each Drew Estate selection is valued at $75.

Guests will also enjoy education and anecdotes from Drew Estate's cofounder, Marvin Snell, and master blender, Willy Herrera, as well as live music and exclusive promotions throughout the event.

The evening will also feature an open bar with unlimited cocktails, beer, and wine -- included as part of the event fee. Tickets for the cigar dinner are $125 each and can be purchased online at the Neptune website. Seating is limited, and reservations are first-come, first-served.

This exclusive cigar pairing dinner will take place Saturday, November 1, from 7 to 10 p.m. inside the store's lounge at 2325 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Visit neptunecigar.com, or call 800-655-3585.
