New Times Beerfest is a truly epic local beer event. Beer brewers from all over the state and the country come to show local beer drinkers their stuff. And now, local homebrewers (and maybe some aspiring professionals) can offer their beers to the suds swilling public.

This year, 17th Annual New Times "Original" Beerfest, sponsored by Isle Casino, returns April 5 from 3 to 7 p.m. at America's Backyard in downtown Fort Lauderdale. There will be music and food trucks and, of course, beer.

Here at Clean Plate Charlie, we look forward to it all year long. In fact, we like to consider it our dysfunctional family reunion, a time to reconnect with that extended drunken family you might have lost touch with - maybe even on purpose. Probably on purpose. But hey, they're still family.

From now through Monday you can get half off of the general admission price and frugality is always a good trait to share with your fam.

Buy a Voice Daily Deal and you can get into Beerfest for just $20 - half off of the usual general admission.

That's $20 for unlimited local and international beer sampling from 100-plus vendors at the area's oldest and largest Beerfest.

There will also be live musical performances on the Revolution Live outdoor, including SOJA.

Sign up for the Voice Daily Deal through Monday to get the special rate. Otherwise, general admission tickets will be $40 through March 2, $45 through April 4, and $55 at the door.

VIP $65 advance through March 2, $75 through April 4, and $90 at the door.

Still not convinced? Check out this video from last year to see what you'll be missing out on.

(What? Your family videos don't look like this?)
