Bon Appetit is usually known for its food porn covers - juicy roasts, steaming bowls of pasta, a cake that makes you want to eat the paper its printed on. But the June issue has a different kind of "dish" on it - Gwyneth Paltrow.
In the magazine and website, you'll find an interview with the prolific star, as well as six recipes, including grilled chicken, a peach cooler, grilled halibut with mango avocado salsa and strawberry shortcake sliders.
Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport states that it all started when he found Paltrow dining with Mario Batali in New York. That may seem like a case of being a "cook by association" (in which case we here at Clean Plate Charlie should all have won James Beard awards by now), but you may recall that Paltrow did just release a cookbook, My Father's Daughter, and has that strange website, Goop, which does have a recipe section.
If you think Bon Appetit has sold out to the celebrity machine, this is just the beginning. EIC Rapoport eludes that this is just the beginning of celebrity-as-foodie features at the mag. Next up - Jimmy Kimmel.
