People in the hospitality industry sometimes have thankless jobs. They spend long hours working for tips, dealing with assholes, getting yelled at, getting pinched on their asses, and generally working on their feet for seemingly endless shifts so that we can grab a cheeseburger.

There are only two things that can offset the pain of working in the hospitality industry -- the "big tipper" who plunks down a $1,000 tip in a coke-induced stupor or the "In the Biz" discount that's offered at many local establishments. Here are a few of the best ITB deals in Fort Lauderdale.

Tarpon Bend Food & Tackle, 200 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale; 954-523-3233.

Tarpon Bend is a great place for casual dining and has an extensive raw bar menu and daily fresh seafood selections. Located in the Himmarshee District, Tarpon Bend offers a 20 percent ITB discount on your entire check with proof of ITB employment. This discount is good any time and for anything on the menu, so bring your appetite and order the good booze.

Shooter's Waterfront Cafe, 3033 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale; 954-566-2855.

Shooter's is known for its waterfront dining, casual atmosphere, and Sunday-afternoon hot-body contest pooside. Shooter's offers a 20 percent ITB discount on your entire food and drink check with proof of ITB employment at the bar only.

Casablanca Cafe, 3049 Alhambra St., Fort Lauderdale; 954-764-3500.

If you're strapped for cash but still want to impress a date, Casablanca Cafe offers an incredible ITB dinner deal. On Tuesday, take 50 percent off the entire check for parties of one or two (sorry, you can't celebrate Uncle Victor's prison release with the entire family). The only exclusions are stone crabs, lobster tails, and bottles of wine over $50. Bring a current ITB pay stub and a date.
