How do Americans like their lunch? That's the topic of a new survey conducted by Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The KFC Famous Bowls Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research, polling 1,000 adults 18 and over in the United States using random-digit telephone dialing. The survey, which was released today, gives insight into what we like to eat and how we like to eat it.
What makes us happy and satisfied at our mid-day meal?
Some Like to Mingle
When it comes to our peas touching our mashed potatoes, we're pretty much even. 57% of Americans don't mind when our foods mix on their plate, while 43% would prefer to keep things separate.
We're Bored and Cranky
39% of people surveyed are bored with the same 'ole lunch options, while 36% say their options aren't even appealing (must be all those frozen foods we take to the office). And even if we did find something we like, 37% of us feel there's not enough time to savor the meal, anyway.
Hot Lunches are the Best
50% of people say a good, hot lunch makes them happier for the rest of the day.
