Lucky’s Market Opens in Coral Springs With Bacon-Cutting Ceremony, Special Events All Week

Move over, Trader Joe's — and Whole Foods and Fresh Market — another popular green-minded, niche grocery chain is moving into town. And it's celebrating by cutting an enormous slab of bacon with a ninja knife.

Lucky’s Market, a natural-foods grocer best-known for its vibrant stores full of affordable healthy options for everyday foods and specialty choices, is officially making Coral Springs its newest home this week. The new market will be Lucky's third Florida location and its first natural and organic grocery store in Southeast Florida. 

The gauntlet has been thrown down, rival grocers. If this is the bar Lucky's is setting going forward, the game done changed. The grand-opening-day celebration will also include the presentation of more than $10,000 in Impact Grant donations to two local organizations: Scentsability and LifeNet4Families. Delicious food samples will be available throughout the day. 

Lucky's offers a wide selection of natural, organic, and gluten-free items, as well as in-house cured and smoked bacon; a large selection of fresh, local produce; fresh seafood, and an in-store bakery. While this might not sound like something new to most, the draw of Lucky's is that its prices aren't on par with some of the eye-popping numbers you will find at a Whole Foods or Fresh Market. 
Coral Springs, still a relatively young city by South Florida standards, continues to add new restaurants and stores (Pei-Wei will be opening its newest location there in late April), and Lucky's is happy to be part of the city's continued growth. 

“Lucky’s Market believes that all people should have access to great food and we are thrilled to open another store in Florida to help bring more affordable quality, local, organic, and traditionally crafted foods to the Coral Springs area,” says Bo Sharon, who founded Lucky’s Market in 2003 with his wife, Trish. The two chefs bought a convenience store in Boulder, Colorado, with a vision of creating a grocery store where food lovers like themselves would want to shop.

While the grand opening kicks off today, it continues throughout the week with numerous events. On Saturday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., popular product vendors from near and far will be on hand with food samples and gift-basket giveaways. A reusable bag credits program will run through July 2, allowing shoppers reusing their shopping bags to get a 10-cent credit on their purchase or to send a donation to SOS Children’s Village, Blessings in a Backpack, or Broward Partnership for the Homeless.
