Only a few establishments closed the doors for good in the past few weeks, including Tony D's in Fort Lauderdale and BGR The Burger Joint in Plantation.

Despite the industry's "slow" summertime sadness season — felt across South Florida — there are still plenty of restaurants planning grand openings over the next few months. Coming soon, anticipated grand openings include Lost Weekend in West Palm Beach, Bar Rita in Fort Lauderdale, and Riverside Market in Plantation.
