Minisandwiches will slide into Boca Raton this August. The Miami-based, fast-casual Sliderz is expected to open its first Palm Beach County location at the Town Center at Boca Raton the first week of August.

The restaurant focuses on "slider-sized" everything — sandwiches and minimeals featuring beef, fish, chicken, vegetables, and pork (even a mini-ice-cream-sandwich) that allow customers to "taste everything on the menu."

Traditional Sliderz options include minisandwiches like bacon cheeseburgers, turkey burgers, Buffalo chicken and blackened mahi sandwiches, meatball Parmesan subs — even a few types of supersmall hot dogs. Specialty sliders include Philly cheesesteak, Italian-style sausage and peppers, and pizza burgers that change weekly.

One thing they all have in common, says Sliderz CEO Buzz Sklar, is that each restaurant will use only high-quality ingredients including grassfed meats, line-caught fish, and free-range chicken, all free of antibiotics and hormones.

But there are big plans for these small sandwiches. The Boca restaurant is just one of many such locations planned for the South Florida area and the first big step in Sliderz' plans for national expansion.

Sklar calls their rollout plan "aggressive" and it certainly is that. In perhaps one of the most ambitious expansion plans ever seen, Sklar and Sliderz partnered with investors Benzion Aboud and Joe Randazza for a $21 million dollar deal that will see a total of 80 locations open across the country. The main focus of this momentous expansion will be mall food courts, airports, stadiums, and casinos.

"This partnership will increase our national footprint much faster than we could have done on our own," says Sklar. "We couldn’t be more excited to begin seeking out new locations according to our rollout plan. The goal is to bring a more healthy option to the fast-casual dining industry with naturally sourced, high-quality food that is hormone and antibiotic free."

Sliderz will be located inside the Town Center Mall at 6000 Glades Rd., Boca Raton; sliderz.com.
