The beer teasing can stop, as J Wakefield Brewing is set to finally open its doors to the general public on a standard basis following their grand opening celebration taking place Saturday, February 28th.
What's in store for the big celebration?

For five hours, the brewery will be host to a Wynwood block party featuring 30 different JWB beers and treatments, as well as a generous offering from some of Florida's most sought after breweries and some out of state friends. After all, brewer Johnathan Wakefield is kind of like that friend of a friend who always brings the good stuff.
A lot of the time, the good stuff is self-produced: Wakefield will not be in short supply of a plethora of 305 brewed beer. We are told that beers like La Nada (a Russian imperial stout formerly known as 'The Nothing'), It's A Trappe (a Belgian quad with cherries - just don't pull your fleet out of hyperspace too early... the ladies don't like it, but the Emperor does), and a Lychee Rose STUSH will be among the dozens available from the brewery.
In addition to the teased brews and treatments, expect some amazing kegs from industry friends, including Sarasota's JDUBS Brewing Company, Tampa's Angry Chair Brewing, Cigar City Brewing and Cigar City Cider & Mead, St. Pete's Cycle Brewing, Dunedin's 7venth Sun Brewery, Delray Beach's Saltwater Brewery, Oakland Park's Funky Buddha Brewery, and Three Floyds Brewing Company out of Munster, Indiana. Yes, that's right, in addition to beers like Angry Chair's Three Little Birds, or Cigar City Brewing's Red White & Blue IPA, there will be kegs from the boys in Indiana, including the top-rated Zombie Dust American Pale Ale.
The event will run from noon to 5 p.m. to the tune of unlimited pours for a set fee of $65. This gives drinkers ample time to join in the festivities. With the entire section of 24th Street blocked off, it'll be one hell of a block party.
Il Fiorentino, Original Greek, Mr. PB&J, and Purple People Eaters will all be stopping by, giving drinkers ample selection for their food truck oriented nourishment.
So where do you get tickets to this shindig? Starting at midnight February 19th (so in a few hours, or if it's already Thursday morning, like, right now!) 1,000 tickets will be available at jwbrewinggrandopening.brownpapertickets.com.
Broward and Palm Beachers, if you head down next weekend, prepare yourself for the inevitable parking nightmare that is Wynwood. Carpool if it's at all possible. Otherwise, good luck, and may the empty spaces be ever in your favor.
