In life, things can get a little stale; sometimes it just takes a little makeover to spice it up a bit.

The same goes for restaurants.

To bring new life back into the spot, Mozart Café completely revamped its concept with a contemporary interior, kitchen team, brand-spanking-new kosher dairy menu, and a soon-to-come pastry shop next door.

"This is a complete departure from the old Mozart Café," said Mike Zikri, managing partner. "Everything is being made from scratch, using top quality products and a gourmet touch. We are also very pleased to have a new team of well-trained chefs."

Corporate executive chef Josh Hedquist has been working with sushi chef Armando Takamoto, formerly of Buddha Sky Bar; pastry chef Moran Shatashvili; and barista Luis Oliva to revitalize the fare with a wide array of kosher options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch.

The menu includes salads, like the Asian salmon ($19) with mixed greens, tomato, corn, carrots, and alfalfa with an Asian dressing; appetizers, like the avocado egg rolls ($10) with sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, and a cilantro sauce and wild mushroom bruschetta ($12) with ricotta cheese and lemonette; large plates, such as oven-roasted Chilean sea bass ($35) with roasted potato, asparagus, and roasted tomato beurre blanc as well as pizzas ($11-20) and pastas ($15 to $26); sushi like the shrimp tempura roll ($11) with faux shrimp tempura, avocado, snap peas, and scallions and kimchee roll ($12) with tuna, cucumber, spinach, and scallions topped with tuna and kimchee sauce; and sandwiches ($11 to $16).

From 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, breakfast is available, which includes items like three egg omelets ($13) with a variety of fillings; a smoked salmon platter ($14) with capers, tomato, cucumber, red onion cream cheese and a bagel; Belgian waffles ($11) with peach compote and whipped cream; and stuffed challah French toast ($13) with sweet vanilla cream cheese and bananas foster topping.

On Sundays, the spot offers a $20 buffet brunch with omelet station, sushi, pasta, quiche, fruit, cheeses, pastries, and Belgian waffles from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; kids eat for $10. Bottomless mimosas are also available for $10.

In addition to the large selection of savory kosher options, the spot offers a wide range of pastry-chef-prepared desserts ranging from macaroons to chocolate pie to lemon raspberry tart with Italian merengue.

While you can sample all of the dessert offerings in the restaurant right now, the owners plan to open another pastry and coffee concept next door, Mozart Signature. Stay tuned for details.

The restaurant adheres to a strict set of kosher dairy rules under the supervision of Cholov Yisrael, Pas Yisrael, and Bishul Yisrael.
