Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, an upscale eatery specializing in gourmet burgers served with a perfectly paired assortment of fine wine selections, will open its first South Florida location later this spring in the Boca Raton Town Cener.

ZInburger -- also known for its sweeter side thanks to hand-dipped shakes, floats and decadent pies -- opened its first location in Clifton, New Jersery three years ago, and has since developed an almost fanatical following of burger-loving clients with their made-to-order gourmet sandwiches, hand-dipped shakes and floats, decedent pies and 23 wines to pair it all with.

With five locations in New York and New Jersey, Durham, South Carolina -- which opened in December -- led the charge for the chain to expand south as Zinburger's first official southern location. Additional restaurants are slated to open in Sunrise, as well as Charlottesville, Virginia and Atlanta, Georgia in the next six month.

What makes a Zinburger? Each of the 10 selections are made from scratch, cooked to order on a griddle using only certified Angus beef and American-style Kobe, which is ground fresh twice daily. Signature burgers include the Zinburger served with Manchego cheese and zinfandel braised onions, or the Kobe Burger with Vermont cheddar and wild mushrooms.

In addition to gourmet burgers, Zinburger also offers a Turkey Burger, a turkey Sloppy Joe, ahi tuna and veggie burgers, two chicken sandwiches and five dinner-style salads. Side selections on the menu mix old and new with hand-cut fries, zucchini fries and double truffle fries -- just to name a few. A dessert menu features old fashioned, hand-dipped shakes, floats and malts as well as banana cream and chocolate cream pies.

Zinburger isn't going to be the quick-stop mall burger experience you may be used to, however. Expect a longer stay to enjoy the restaurant's full bar where you can find cocktails, more than a dozen selections including those on tap, as well as a wine menu that includes over 20 varieties affordably priced from $5 to $15 a glass. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy half-price bottles of wine, while "Happy Thursday" features happy hour all day with a $5 burger, half-price sides and discounts on cocktails.

Zinburger will be located at the Boca Raton Town Center off Glades Road in Boca Raton. For more information visit the website at www.zinburgereast.com.
