We've received a flurry of news releases and heads-up notifying us of restaurant openings in the coming season and the course of the year. First up, in correlation with this week's restaurant review on Philippe Chow: Sources tell us that a location for the group's next casual-dining location will be announced in the coming weeks, with an opening schedule in Fort Lauderdale for June 2012.

The Water Bar & Grill will be reborn in Palm Beach Gardens' Oakwood Grill space at 4610 PGA Blvd. Mahogany and stone décor is abandoned for stainless steel, glass, and more modern furnishings. John Spoto remains owner and GM of this space, a menu change drives the seafood-focused concept that incorporates a raw bar ($1.50 to $68 for the seafood tower), wood-roasted and steamed shellfish ($10 to $36 for the shellfish platter), soups and salads ($5 to $10), flatbreads ($8.50 to $12), fish sandwiches ($15 to $20), and entrées ($17 to $30). The restaurant is shooting for an early-November opening.
The Whole Enchilada is opening a second location at 745 N. Federal Highway in between Broward and Sunrise Boulevard. "It's such an old building that we don't know how long it will take us to gut it," a manager told Clean Plate Charlie. Construction starts next week, but "we'll know more in a month," he said. The restaurant will be more high-tech but otherwise the same formula as the original location.
Poolhouse Grill is slated for opening in a month and a half in Davie, confirms a spokesperson, who will provide details closer to the opening. According to the restaurant's Facebook page, it's bar food and fusion food in the $10-to-$30 range for lunch through late night.
