If you love sampling wine, beer, and food in the South Florida sunshine, another food festival taking place this weekend will be a great place to enjoy all three -- and for a discounted rate.

On Saturday, March 7, Fort Lauderdale will host the third-annual Galt Mile Wine & Food Festival, resurrecting last year's blockbuster annual affair where thousands of local residents and visitors sampled food and drink prepared by some of South Florida's most talented chefs.

Act now, and all New Times readers will be eligible for half-price tickets by visiting the festival website for a limited-time pre-sale promotion.

This year, the annual festival has grown to include unlimited sampling of artisan wines, live cooking demonstrations, educational seminars, and a retail bazaar where you can shop for artisanal cheeses and other specialty food items -- as well as those meant for pairing with beer, wine, and spirits.

Attendees will also be able to sample a wide assortment of craft beers and spirits while sampling food tastings by some of South Florida's most experienced chefs. Among them: Martin Barrett from Sly Fox; Freddy Kunkel from the Roasted Fig; and Claudio Sandri, executive chef from the new Pronto By The Sea.

Participating establishments include Green Bar and Kitchen, Green Spot Kitchen, Beg For More Japanese Thai Tapas, Potions In Motion, PDQ, The Garlic Knot, Gelato Petrini, Bamboo Beach Tiki Bar, Another Broken Egg, Sidecar Kitchen, Roc Resto-Lounge & Fashion, Bokampers, Nanking Asian Grill, Hugs 'N Kishka, Rosie's Bar & Grill, and Whole Foods Market in Fort Lauderdale.

The Galt Mile Wine & Food Festival will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Galt Ocean Dr. and NE 35th St., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $150 per person, and include unlimited samples of both food and drink. To purchase tickets at a 50 percent discount as a New Times reader visit GMWFF.com/NewTimes.html.
