May is National Hamburger Month, and this week's event lineup includes one hell of a way to celebrate the food holiday: the Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle. (If you can't make it out for the showdown, find a list of other celebratory burger activities here, plus a look at where to get a veggie burger in South Florida, here.) Also looming large on the schedule is Mother's Day this  Sunday, May 13. If you haven't already, consider making those brunch and dinner reservations now.

Tuesday:

Special five-course dinner event at Snapper's Seafood and Wine Bar -- John and Sally Stilley will host a five-course dinner with a vegan vs. seafood theme. The dinner is 7 to 9:30 p.m. and reservations are required. Find more details here.

Spring Series Beer Tasting Class -- Bon Beer Voyage hosts a Spring Series of Beer Tasting Classes, with six to eight different beers for sampling at each event. The monthly event is at World of Beer in Coconut Creek and runs 7:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $15. Register here

Thursday:

Pamper Mom class at Whole Foods Market in Boca Raton -- This Mother's Day demo will show you how to make homemade dishes for brunch and other goodies for mom. Food items you'll learn to make include bellinis, orange ricotta pancakes with raspberries, and chocolate souffle cookies. The cost is $10 and pre-registration is required. Call 561-447-0000.

:

Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle -- The third annual Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle is 7 to 10 p.m. at Huizenga Plaza in Fort Lauderdale.  Here's a look at some of the new burgers to try at this year's battle. Tickets are $40 to $125.

Sunday:
