Fans of ROK:BRGR Burger Bar and Gastropub planning on traveling south of the border (to Miami) will soon find a welcome sight come the end of summer.
Owner Marc Falsetto chose South Miami as the location for his second ROK:BRGR for its close proximity to the University of Miami campus and upscale neighborhoods like Pinecrest, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove. The new restaurant will be located at 5800 SW 73rd Street, in the former Segafredo space, just off US-1 in South Miami.
ROK:BRGR Miami will feature the same menu as in Fort Lauderdale, in a slightly larger space. With seating for 144 and an enlarged outdoor terrace, the restaurant will have a "1920's Chicago post-prohibition vibe to it", said Falsetto, describing a dining room with exposed brick lit by Edison bulbs and a terrace mood-enhanced by fire pits.
Falsetto is looking forward to wowing the South Miami neighborhood,
which is filled with upscale eateries, with his restaurant's diversity
and ingredients. "We're a full gastropub with 60 beers and 45 bourbons.
We use high-quality ingredients and make everything in-house. You're
not going to take your date to another burger joint. You're going to
come here".
ROK:BRGR is slated to open in South Miami in late
summer of this year, with plans in the works to expand the brand to
Delray Beach in 2013 and then Orlando soon after. Does Falsetto have
plans to turn ROK:BRGR into a national chain of gastropubs? "Let's take
it one burger at a time".
