The European-style Italian coffee shop, restaurant, and lounge known as Segafredo will celebrate the grand opening of its first Broward County location on Monday, April 20, with the launch of its newest restaurant located at the Shops at Pembroke Gardens in Pembroke Pines.
Segafredo opened its first South Florida location on Lincoln Road in 2000, offering patrons a place that was one part Euro-centric cafe, one part chic lounge. The dual personality makes it the perfect spot to grab a hot cup of espresso, or enjoy a cocktail come on a Friday night. Like its Miami counterpart, the full-service Segafredo Pembroke Pines — located next door to Brimstone Woodfire Grill, Havana 1957, and Brio Tuscan Grille — boasts an impressive indoor and outdoor seating area that transforms from cafe by day, to an intimate lounge by night.
Segafredo was founded 30 years ago in Bologna, Italy by coffee merchant Massimo Zanetti, the first in his family to produce and sell roasted coffee. Zanetti opened the first Segafredo café in Paris in 1988; today the global franchise has locations throughout the world.
Each Segafredo café features a European-Mediterranean style food menu and bar program with a selection of coffee and espresso drinks, fruit juices, artisan breads, and European inspired pastries baked daily. Breakfast service begins with a cafe menu featuring sandwiches — everything from braised short rib to a breakfast croissant with prosciutto, egg, and provolone — to soup, and several salads.
In the evenings, Segafredo goes from coffee lounge to restaurant and bar, serving up a dinner menu with a variety of quick-service flatbreads, panini sandwiches, pasta, meat, and fish dishes. The bar offers a daily happy hour and features beer, wine, and liquor — a full menu with a variety of craft, classic, and dessert cocktails including the Pink Elephant, a combination of pear vodka, elderflower liqueur, prosecco, strawberry puree, mint, lime juice, and Demerara syrup.
Segafredo is located at 600 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines. Call 954-362-8779, or visit sze-pembrokepines.com.
