Feeling Saucy

Sure, you can grill a steak like a pro. And yeah, you can pan-sear fish with the best of them. But the real secret to impressing dinner guests is the sauce -- and no, we don't mean getting them drunk. On Wednesday at 6 p.m., the staff at Publix Aprons Cooking School Plantation are going over foolproof recipes for basic sauces. The hands-on class is $40. Visit publix.com.

Thursday

Food Truck invasion Wellington

For the most part, invasions tend to have rather negative connotations. Have you ever heard of anyone being excited about a home invasion? Unlikely. On the other hand, we highly doubt anyone would be upset about being invaded by boatloads -- or truckloads -- of delicious food. Well, it's time to prepare your appetites, because the Food Truck Invasion is about to take over Wellington. On Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., the bimonthly event will feature numerous food trucks at the Wellington Amphitheatre. Featured trucks include Bite Gastrotruck, Grill Master Café, Palate Party, and Sweet Sensations. The roundup is free to attend, and food will be available for purchase from individual trucks. Visit foodtruckinvasion.com.
