Monday
Farmhouse Kitchen Grand Opening
The grand opening of Gary Rack's latest concept, Farmhouse Kitchen, has been slated for Monday, November 10. Serving both lunch and dinner, the restaurant will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., serving the establishment's unique brand of clean, farm-fresh fare. Even the wines offered on the menu are produced naturally, organic options that boast conventional viticulture. Drinks source locally-grown herbs and ingredients, and rather than soda and pop you can order Vero filtered water, and fresh-brewed Mighty Leaf organic teas (hot or cold). Starters are riffs of the familiar: think spicy buffalo cauliflower instead of chicken wings, and zucchini chips served with a lemon garlic dip in place of potato. Dinner offers dishes like a nut- and seed-crusted chicken; spaghetti squash casserole, and homemade vegetable burgers. A brunch menu will also be available on Saturday and Sunday. Funky Buddha Tap Enlightenment at Shula Burger
The Funky Buddha will be spreading some beer wisdom at Shula Burger's Delray Beach location. The brewery will be offering several of its beers as part of a tap takeover, and each are meant to pair with any of the restaurant's various specialty burgers. The event takes place from 6-9 p.m. No reservations required.
Wednesday
Charity All Arts Open Mic at Funky Buddha Lounge
Calling all poets, singers, comedians, rappers, jugglers, impersonators, comedians, and -- yes -- even yodelers. Join host and comedian Richy Lala as he returns to the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca Raton for an evening of laughs and drafts during the All Arts Open Mic night and charity event on Wednesday, November 12. All you'll need is $3 for an entry fee, and two canned goods for a charitable donation. Then sit back and enjoy a few hours of stand-up comedy, poetry, and music from local artists starting at 9 p.m. Or get on stage yourself, and show your stuff. The All Arts Open Mic night takes place on certain Wednesday nights at the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca Raton. Smuttynose Pairing Dinner at Havana Hideout
Lake Worth's Havana Hideout will host its first official beer pairing dinner this Thursday with a tap takeover compliments of New Hampshire's Smuttynose Brewing. The four-course menu will feature a number of specially-designed dishes meant to pair perfectly with each brew, from a lobster bisque starter to a steak with cranberry and blue cheese cream sauce with Boston baked beans, and Portuguese fish stew with mahi mahi. Dinner guests will enjoy five-ounce pours of each of the Smuttynose beers on tap, which include the brewery's Oak Aged Tripel, Schmutzig Bavarian IPA, Strawberry Weisse, Shebang Imperial IPA, Brett & I Belgian Pale Ale, Cluster's Last Stand, and Smuttonator. A Culinary Affair: The 5th Annual Celebration Boca Raton Wine & Food Festival
This week, please your palate and quench your thirst during South Florida's largest outdoor culinary affair with the start to the 5th Annual Boca Raton Wine & Food Festival. The annual event brings you face-to-face with those who have made their lives their craft -- and it's a delicious combination. This year the foodie celebration takes place at the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton, and offers a line-up of four special events over the three-day festival. Friday night kicks off the celebration with two unique events: an exclusive VIP Dinner Under The Stars: A Four-Course Food & Wine Affair, and a vineyard wine party, A Vine to Glass Affair. On Saturday evening, over 75 chefs from the tri-county area converge upon the festival grounds for the Grand Tasting. After Dark: Flagler Green Market From Food In Motion
On Friday, November 14, Food In Motion will host its second after-dark green market in Peter Feldman Park. The mission: to foster community connectivity and provide a platform for local artisans and food growers to share, sell, and promote their small business operations. From 5-11 p.m., enjoy this free monthly food-lovers event featuring fresh-picked organic produce, food trucks, vegan fare, gourmet baked goods, locally-made products, and more. You'll also have a chance to meet local farmers, and learn more about urban farming in Fort Lauderdale. The event features a special "Night In The Park" and
offers visitors a chance to sample some free beer (for those 21 years of age and older). That's right: free beer. Make sure to bring some cash for tips, though. They will be collected to raise funds for more exciting free stuff at future Food In Motion events, including free movies in the park, live music, trolleys for parking -- and more free beer. Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair, a few board games, and it's an evening of South Florida food, drink, and fun.
