Halfway to St. Patty's Day

Possibly the greatest holiday of the year, St. Patrick's Day is still six months away -- meaning you're going to have to wait for an excuse to drink tons of Irish Car Bombs without looking like a potential alcoholic. For those of you who just can't wait, help is around the corner -- at the Dubliner, that is. Hosted by Young Professionals of the Covenant House, the drinking affair will benefit the homeless. Admission includes two complimentary drinks and passed appetizers. Members pay $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Nonmembers pay $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

The Dubliner is located at 210 SW Second St. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 561-620-2540, or visit dublinerfortlauderdale.com. Visit youngpros.org.

Meatballs and Martinis

Nothing is more suggestive of Frank Sinatra than some good old meatballs and martinis. If you're into the whole Sinatra thing -- or just vodka and meat -- on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., Anthony's Runway 84 is hosting its meatball and martinis happy hour to benefit 2-1-1 Broward . For $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers in advance or $30 at the door, get Anthony's well-known meatballs and one martini for a cause.
