Take a break from your busy schedule this week to test your trivia skills, paint with a glass of wine, or dance the night away to live music after enjoying a three-course meal. Living in South Florida, there is always an opportunity to find entertainment, no matter the day of the week.

From trivia nights to social dinners that can provide a distraction and good time, here are the top events happening and Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.

Monday

Trivia Factory

Test out your trivia skills from 8 to 10 p.m. at American Social on Monday. While participating in a friendly match of the Trivia Factory and trying to think of responses for questions you never thought you'd need to known the answer to, chow down on some burgers and ribs, which will be $5 for the night. Bring a brain full of random facts, a group of friends, and a hungry stomach.

Tuesday

Paints N' Cocktails

Start off the week tranquilly with a paintbrush and glass of wine in hand as you learn how to create artwork of your own. Bring a friend and join the instructors of Paints N' Cocktails in a painting class. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided; just bring a bottle of your favorite wine. From 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday the class will go through step-by-step instructions on painting Britto-inspired "Love" masterpiece.

Wednesday

ABZs By The Beach

Join the ABZs of South Florida as it showcases three restaurants in three hours. Have a chance to enjoy complimentary tapas and discounted cocktails at each location while networking with others in Delray Beach. Eat, meet, and mingle at Boston's Sandbar, Boheme Bistro and Atlantic Grille beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Bourbon Tasting with Food Pairing

Bistro Ten Zero One will be hosting a bourbon tasting Wednesday beginning with a reception at 7 p.m. followed by the tasting at 7:30 p.m. Guests will enjoy a bourbon cocktail and will be guided through a tasting of six different bourbons with a chance to ask questions along the way. Gourmet select appetizers from Executive Chef Chris DeGweck will also be served. Dishes to be tasted include open-faced steak sandwiches, chili mac and cheese, and fried chicken and waffles. The cost is $35 per guest.

Dinner & Dance

Bring your best moves and an appetite to Pavilion Grille on Wednesday night for ballroom dancing and a three-course dinner. With live music from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., there will be plenty of dancing, sweets, and entertainment. Dinner will be served beginning at 6 p.m. Guests will choose a starter, an entrée, and a dessert. The ballroom and Latin dance lesson begins at 7 p.m. The entry fee is $15 per person.

The Feast of the Seas Chefs Challenge Series

Chefs Check McCann of Salt 7, Bruce Feingold of Dada, Alain Zimmer of Vic & Angelo's, and Adam Gottlieb of Atlantic Grille will be competing at the chef's challenge on Wednesday at Salt 7 Steakhouse & Sushi Restaurant. This level of the competition will judge not only the chefs' dishes, but also the mixologists' pairings for each. There will be seafood cooking demonstrations; samples from Salt 7, Tito's Handmade Vodka, and PRP Wine will be served alongside complimentary drinks from the competing bartenders. Guest passes are $10 and can be purchased at feastofthesea.com.

Thursday

Pig & Pint Thursdays

Beauty & the Feast will be preparing slow roasted pulled pork for all on Thursday. Beginning at 5 p.m. diners can indulge in all-you-can-eat pulled pork for $15 and $5 pints of a variety of domestic and imported beers, both bottled and on tap. Prepare to close off the week with plenty of food and fun.

Science on Tap

Explore the sexier side of science at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium's discussion on the "Science of Attraction." Led by Board Certified Sexologist Dr. Jason Carter, the discussion will take place at O'Shea's Irish Pub from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. With the motto "drink up - get smart" the session invites you to learn about everyday curiosities while enjoying a cup of coffee, a craft beer, or a glass of wine. The event is free, and guests can enjoy O'Shea's happy hour specials, including $1 off well drinks, $3 draft beers, $4 bottle beers and $3 Irish Car Bomb drinks.

Wine and Jazz

Enjoy de-stressing from a week of work and prepare for the weekend with a glass of wine in hand and an appreciation for cheese at An Evening of Wine and Jazz. The event will be held at Stache 1920's Drinking Den. From 7 to 9 p.m., taste nine selections of wine, choose cheese to accompany each wine, and listen to soothing live jazz from the Bobby Lee Rogers Jazz Trio. Tickets cost $40 per guest for the night. Each guest will receive a one-ounce sample of each wine on display and a three-ounce glass after choosing three favorites. The wines selected for tasting will also be available for purchase at discounted rates.
