Cooking Class with Chef Jean-Pierre
Learn how to be a culinary master with a five-part cooking series with Chef Jean-Pierre at his culinary school (1436 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale). The first class of the series, called “Introduction to the Wonderful World of Cooking,” is this week at 7:30 p.m. and will be every Monday through February 8. Monk Beer Academy: Brews & Bites
The Blind Monk (410 Evernia St., Suite 107, West Palm Beach) will hold a class discussing the importance of pairing food with beers. There will also be pairings available for eating. Admission is $36, with classes at both 7 and 8:30 p.m. Email [email protected] for class reservations.

Farmer’s Market at Whole Foods
Whole Foods in Fort Lauderdale (2000 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) is hosting an outdoor farmer’s market in the southside parking lot. This is from 4 to 9 p.m. There is no cost for admission. Call 954-398-2000.

Wednesday

Lexington Brewing & Distilling Tasting
Swing by Stache (109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale) to not only learn about but taste samples from Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co. Drinks of both topic and taste include Town Branch Bourbon, Pearse Lyons Reserve Whiskey, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Kentucky Bourbon Honey Barrel Brown Ale, and Town Branch Rye. Meet the Brewer
Craft Beer Cartel (557 SW 12th Ave., Fort Lauderdale) is allowing beer-loving guests to meet Wynwood Brewing’s Nik Mebane and David Rodriguez. The discussion of Wynwood Brewing’s origins and sudsy creations starts at 7 p.m. Visit their Facebook page.

Wino Wednesday

Project Yeast 002
LauderAle (3305 SE 14th Ave., Fort Lauderdale) is allowing guests to drink and judge the outcome of a four-beer flight. Drinkers will learn about the brewing process of each beer and yeast stain and will help choose the best one. This event is from 8 to 11 p.m. and is $9 to participate. Open Mic Night
Get your singing/poetic voices ready — the Brewhouse Gallery (720 Park Ave., Lake Park) will hold an open-mic night, hosted by comedian Wayne Felber. Participants sign up at 7 p.m. and get on stage at 8. There is a one-drink minimum for both performers and guests. There will also be gourmet hot dogs and home-style cooking from Diner Dogs Inc. Food Truck Invasion
