The weekend might be over, but there are still plenty of weekday food and drink events in South Florida to keep you busy. Whether you're looking to celebrate National IPA Day, score some cheap oysters, or go winetasting, there's something to do in Broward and Palm Beach counties this week.


Monday:


Oyster Special at G&B Oyster Bar and Coconuts
Who doesn’t love a good oyster, or in this case, a half dozen? Both G&B Oyster Bar (429 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) and Coconuts (429 Seabreeze Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) offer half dozen oysters for a mere $7 from 4 to 6 p.m. And there’s nothing like starting your week off with a good ol’ oyster fest. Cakebread Cellars Wine Reception

YOLO (333 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) will host a Strolling Wine Reception featuring Cakebread Cellars. At 6 p.m., guests can enjoy appetizers and live music in the O Lounge and, of course, wine. Admission is $60 per person. Call 954-523-1000 for reservations. Visit YoloRestaurant.com.
Vegan Street Food
Green Bar & Kitchen’s executive chef and co-owner, Charlie Grippo, will be showing off his healthy-cooking skills at Farmer’s Table (1901 N. Military Trl., Boca Raton) for the “TURN THE TABLE: GUEST CHEF SUPPER SERIES”. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the event includes a five-course dinner paired with vegan wines from Ste. August 4: Mediterranean Wine Dinner at Apeiro Kitchen + Bar
Thanks to Savor Tonight, you can enjoy a four-course Mediterranean Wine Dinner at Apeiro Kitchen + Bar  (14917 Lyons Road, in the Delray Marketplace). Chef and owner David Blonsky will be the culinary cook of the night for meals such as grilled Spanish octopus, roasted Mediterranean Branzino, and other specialty dishes. Admission is $57. Let’s Taco Bout Beer
Swing by LauderAle (3305 SE 14th Ave., Building 4, Fort Lauderdale) to check out some tacos featured from Foxy Brown, Red Cow, and Top Hat Deli. The event will take place starting at 6 p.m. Tacos served will be Foxy Brown’s Patty Melt Taco, Red Cow’s Piglet Taco, and Top Hat Deli’s Bagel & Lox Taco. It's a twist on a crunchy shell favorite. Wednesday:

Wilton Manors Savor the Tour
Let’s face it – walking is fun only when there is food involved. Thanks to Savor Wilton Manors, attendees can take a walking tour of Wilton Manors and its trendiest restaurants. Starting at 6 p.m. at Wilton Drive, guests can taste samples from different restaurants and meet chefs, restaurateurs, and shop owners. Specific location details will be provided once tickets are purchased, which must be done prior to the event. Tickets cost $65 and are available on Zerve.com.


Sommelier for a Day
The swanky restaurant III Forks Prime Steakhouse (501 Silks Run, Suite 1130, Hallandale Beach) is hosting its "Sommelier for a Day" event from 6 to 8 p.m. Spain is this month’s varietal origin, with six wines to try. Those choosing to get in touch with their inner Dionysus can vote on their favorite wine to be featured for the month. Admission is $20 and includes appetizers. Seventh-Annual Tastemakers of Delray Beach
Get a taste of Delray’s 18 best restaurants from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Participating restaurants include 50 Ocean, Max’s Harvest, Deck84, SoLita, and Taverna Opa. Each dish will be paired with a cocktail, wine, or beer. Admission is $30, with $1 going toward the Campaign for Grade Level Reading. VisiII-Scene.com

IPA Day at Tap 42
Although various bars are celebrating IPA Day at different days during the first week of August, one thing is for certain – nobody’s complaining. Tap 42 (1411 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale) will feature a slew of IPAs and their brewing companies, such as Green Flash, Alpine Beer Co., and many others. Visit Tap42.com.

American Social Three-Year Anniversary
American Social (located at 721 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale) will celebrate its three-year anniversary, and you know what that means: food discounts. From now until August 31, one of Fort Lauderdale’s newest bars will debut its limited-edition “Three Cheers for Three Years” anniversary menu. Guests can enjoy a selection of two drinks and one appetizer for $20. For drinks, choose from Tito’s Strawberry Lemonade, Basil Smash, Not Your Father’s Root Beer Float, Pineapple Mint Caipirinha, and Ketel Blue Cosmo. For appetizers, choose from AMSO pretzel bites, truffle and wild mushroom, goat cheese croquettes, margherita flatbread, pikliz and pork tostones, and Spinach and Artichoke Dip.
