Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Eve Pig Roast
On the eve before the Maple Bacon Coffee Porter festival, Funky Buddha Brewery (1201 NE 38th St., Oakland Park) will host a pig roast, prepared by chef Jeff Vincent. Admission is $15 per plate with no reservations required. Note: A pig roast commemorating a beer with bacon is extremely appropriate. This event starts at 7 p.m. Visit FunkyBuddhaBrewery.com.

Food in Motion
From 5 to 11 p.m., head down to Peter Feldman Park (310 NE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale) for an evening green market. There will be copious amounts of food trucks and free beer for those 21 and up. Feel free to bring your own board games and other activities. This is a recurring event that happens on the second Friday of every month. Call 954-785-7475.

Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Day
Jaco Pastorius Park (4000 N. Dixie Highway, Fort Lauderdale) will host Funky Buddha’s Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Day starting at 4 p.m. Tickets cost $30 for general admission (includes one bottle), $75 for full bottle access (includes general admission and four bottles), and $130 for VIP (includes early access, one-hour rare beer sampling, four bottles, and a commemorative glass). Gardening in the Tropics
Learn how to garden the right, green way at Marando Farms (1401 SW First Ave., Fort Lauderdale). The class, taught by Karin Fields, is free and starts at 10 a.m. Read our calendar post about it.

Bubbles and Bird

Animal shelter Big Dog Ranch Rescue will be at the Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market (10066 Lee Road, Boynton Beach) with plenty of pups looking for love. This event is from noon until 3 p.m. Visit Bedners.com

Winter Cocktails

Valentino Cucina Italiana (620 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale) is offering a winter cocktail menu that has more than ten specialty cocktails.
