When the weekend is over and Monday starts the workweek grind, there's not much that can get you amped about the next five days ahead.

Unless, of course, you consider those two words guaranteed to bring a smile to anyone's face: "Taco Tuesday." Just the word "taco," by itself, is a delight. But pair "taco" with a day of the week and what you have is a day of cheap, fast, delicious eats worth celebrating.

Whether you're looking for chicken, fish, beef, or pork, there's a South Florida eatery where you can find them come Taco Tuesday. Each week, we'll highlight a different restaurant serving some super taco savings or just some really amazing meat- and fish-stuffed tortillas.

Congratulations, you just found your new favorite day of the week: TGIT!

The Florida-based Tex-Mex chain the Whole Enchilada is offering the whole meal for its Taco Tuesday deal. Best-known for its supersized burritos and enchiladas, the restaurant also serves its famous Taco Baskets (normally priced at $6.59 to $7.39), which include two tacos served with crispy tortilla chips and fresh salsa from the bar.

Come Taco Tuesday, you can order two charbroiled chicken, pork, or ground beef tacos with cheese, lettuce, and
tomato on a crispy corn shell or soft flour tortilla for less than $5.

From 3 p.m. to close, each of the restaurant's three Broward County locations (Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park, and Plantation) delivers two tacos and a drink for $4.99. The meal comes with chips and salsa from the bar and a fountain drink or Corona (also Corona Light).

Head to the Whole Enchilada after 7 p.m., and the Taco Tuesday deal seems even sweeter with added drink specials when Coronas sell for $3 each, margarita pitchers for $15, and Olmeca Altos tequila shots for $3.

A few of the menu's hotter items aren't included in this deal but are still worth a try any day of the week. Try the steak tacos; mahi-mahi with cabbage, avocado, and tomato; or the black tiger shrimp with cabbage, avocado, cheese, and cilantro sauce.

The Whole Enchilada is located at 4115 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-561-4040, or visit twefreshmex.com.
