The people at Tap 42 are playing Santa's helpers this year with their "Crafts for a Cause" event, and everyone gets a treat!

On Tuesday, December 18, bring in a canned food item (heck, bring in a bagful of canned goods) and you'll receive a free craft beer on draft (up to a $7 value, one complimentary per person). The drive goes on all day, so come for lunch or dinner.

Collected food items will go the The Pantry of Broward, a community organization that feeds seniors in need on low fixed incomes and helps grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.

Tap 42 Partner Andy Yeager told Clean Plate Charlie that hosting the food drive is a way for his pub to give back to the community it's part of. "We have a business that wants to commit to building goodwill in everything that we do. The reality is that we want to help people, all the time. If our food drive can help feed the hungry of our neighborhood, then we win and so do they."

Yeager also said that although many businesses, including Tap 42 certainly care about the "bottom line", sometimes a goal involves something more intangible than money. "Our true bottom line entails a lot more than just dollars & cents... It's about creating a lasting impact."
With that in mind, Tap 42 plans on hosting other charitable events in the new year.
