Charlie has a tip for a decadent Easter treat -- and it's one that you surely won't feel one bit guilty about.
Just head over to Delray Beach's newest hotspot, Buddha Sky Bar, which is celebrating this Easter by giving back by putting its own twist on the traditional chocolate Easter egg.
The rooftop Asian-fusion restaurant is making 100 of its very own gold-inscribed edible eggs, designed and hand-crafted entirely in-house by Buddha Sky Bar's own pastry chef.
Each dark chocolate egg is painted (using edible gold paint) with the word "love," written in Chinese -- a reference to the restaurant's menu, which is dedicated to authentic Chinese and Japanese cuisine.
Underneath each egg is a "nest" of shredded phyllo dough, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries, covered in a white chocolate Grenache. Lychee ice cream will be served on the side.
But what Charlie loves most about these eggs isn't what's in them -- it's what they stand for. Buddha Sky Bar will be donating 100 percent of the money raised from the sale of each egg to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund.
"These eggs are our effort to promote the idea of giving back, while also helping to get the word out and let people know more about us, and what we stand for," said Buddha Sky Bar General Manager Justin LuCore.
And, like any good Easter treat, each of these special chocolate eggs sold on Easter Sunday will contain a fortune. However, only one will hold the GOLDEN TICKET: a special getaway package for the Four Seasons Palm Beach that includes a one-night stay with a couples spa package, as well as dinner and one bottle of champagne or wine (a more than $1,000 value).
But hurry! The restaurant is only making 100 eggs, each available for purchase for $20, beginning today through Easter Sunday. The eggs will also be available for purchase during dinner hours, 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., at both the Buddha Sky Bar and its sister restaurant, the Atlantic Ocean Club. "We wanted to do something different and unique for Easter," said LuCore. "We're really going all out on these golden chocolate eggs, almost like a Willy Wonka presentation."
And that certainly makes for one fabulous, fun -- and delicious -- way to say "Happy Easter!"
