You know what the weekend is for: eating, drinking, and partying.

If you want to do all three, today and tomorrow add up to a couple of the best consecutive days to break out your fat pants and throw that diet plan out the window, South Florida.

Whether you like to drink beer, shop for local produce, or dig into a giant pile of stone-crab claws, here are our picks for the top food-focused events you need to partake in this weekend in Broward and Palm Beach:

4. Find Bone Broth, Local Produce, and Artisan Foods at Your Favorite Farmers' Market
This month a number of South Florida green markets kicked off the beginning of harvest and farmers' market season. Here's a list of some of our favorite vendors at the West Palm Beach Green Market, which opened at the beginning of October and runs every Saturday through April.

3. Cook Fall Foods With Celebrity Chef Michelle Bernstein
If you didn't already love superstar chef and James Beard award-winner Michelle Bernstein, you'll be head over heels after you taste her easy-peasy approach to preparing the luscious bounty of fall. Miami’s culinary darling will be hosting a special cooking demo today, October 15, at Macy’s in Boca Town Center, hosted by Macy’s Culinary Council, a group of award-winning chefs like Bernstein that is dedicated to inspiring people to cook at home.

2. Drink German Beer at These South Florida Oktoberfest Parties
The real Oktoberfest in Munich may be done and over with, but not here in the U.S. Like most of the country, South Florida is still celebrating the annual German beer and food fest with a number of local Oktoberfest parties, including Oktoberfest Las Olas and the country's second-largest celebration at the American German Club of the Palm Beaches in Lantana which runs Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16.

1. Celebrate the Start to Stone-Crab Season With Some Colossal Claws
October is stone-crab claw season in South Florida, and restaurants everywhere are bringing in boatloads to sell to a hungry populace that has been starved of the fresh Florida catch for the past five months. Only a few restaurants (listed here) receive every size stone-crab claw during the season, including the colossals that boast up to a pound and a half of meat in these massive claws.
