Tundra on Las Olas had its soft opening last Sunday, the ice-themed restaurant conceived by David Berman and Alex Podolny. The centerpiece of dining is a 15-course tasting menu for $59, which includes kobe beef meatballs, ceviche, potato black crusted grouper, and butter poached lobster. And yes, that is an ice sculpture, one of many unveiled in the course of service. More photos after the jump.

The double sided bar riffs on ice, but the real thing is in the glass.

The open kitchen allows diners a front row to see the action as the kitchen plates dishes with dry ice garnishes.

Berman learned to carve ice sculpture at hotels, says the former executive chef at Broward County Convention Center. His hobby became a passion, which led to his opening Sculptured Ice Creations, the Deerfield Beach-based ice-design company, which will supply the restaurant with its ice and sculptures.
