The Butterball turkey hotline is a good start. Each year, the company opens up a hotline to help with all your poultry-related emergencies. The helpline, manned by 50 professionally trained home economists, take over 100,000 calls each season, ranging from how to thaw a turkey to how to carve the darn thing. The turkey talk-line, which is open daily through December 24, offers both online chat and phone help and no question is too stupid.

According to Snopes.com, a harried mother called the talk-line wondering how to get toy cars out of the turkey after thy were cooked into the cavity of the bird. There was alo the instance where a Chihuahua got stuck inside a bird (thankfully, the owner caught that one before the turkey reached the oven).

If you're in need of assistance, visit butterball.com or call 1-800-BUTTERBALL; 800-288-8372; 800-288-8372; or 800-288-8372. The helpline is open today until 6 p.m. and on Thanksgiving from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. and will take calls from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily until December 23. On Christmas eve, call from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. to get some help.
