This week, American Social Las Olas launched a new dinner menu with new dishes that offer a sophisticated twist on classic American comfort food. The revamped recipes incorporate the culinary favorites served at the restaurant's original Brickell location founded by Paul Greenberg and Richard Mijares, with nearly half the menu presenting new dinner selections for Las Olas loyals.
But not to worry: The menu still serves all of American Social’s signature dishes.
Fans of American Social's Miami location will recognize Dade County's more popular menu items at the Las Olas location, including the restaurant's award-winning chicken and waffles (herb vanilla waffles, Southern fried chicken, cherries, and bourbon mascarpone served with maple syrup); the Sassy Pigs (chorizo, Manchego cheese, red peppers, Vidalia onions, and piquilo pepper coulis wrapped in a puff pastry); the 8-ounce AmSo (a beef-bacon blend burger with roasted mushrooms, red onion marmalade, avocado mousse, garlic aioli, blue cheese sauce and chicory served on an onion bun which won 2015 Riverwalk Burger Battle); and a veggie sandwich (roasted Portobello, red pepper, artichokes, goat cheese, arugula, tomatoes, cucumber and black truffle aioli served onion bun with a side of sweet potato fries).
All-new menu additions include the AmSo steak Cobb salad (beef tenderloin, romaine, baby heirloom tomatoes, blue cheese, cooked egg, avocado, bacon lardons and grilled corn served with buttermilk ranch); a turkey burger (ground white turkey meat, turkey bacon, peach salsa, Sriracha aioli and chicory served on onion bun); and peach salmon (pan seared Atlantic salmon, peach salsa, buckwheat soba noodles and seasonal vegetables).
But the black truffle short rib sliders are the real treat here: Three red wine-braised short rib sandwiches made with a real black truffle aioli, black pepper pecorino, scented with chicory, and served on a toasted challah bun. The dish, created by American Social executive chef Chris Palmer, was good enough to earn a win at the OBIES: A Taste of South Florida where it took home took home the "Flavor of Florida" award.
