Although businesses everywhere shutter their doors on Christmas Day, plenty of South Florida restaurants will stay open and serve throughout the day on Thursday, December 24, and Friday, December 25.

Want a classic South Florida water view? Looking to experiment with some antelope steaks? On Christmas Day, the Atlantic Hotel & Spa's Beauty & the Feast will serve a special holiday feast via à la carte offerings, in addition to its regular menu. On Christmas Eve, the restaurant will offer its famous "Feast of the Seven Fishes," a festive lineup of holiday dishes and specialty menus featuring more than a dozen seafood selections, from small plates to entrées. Seating begins at 5 p.m. On Christmas Day, "The Feast" will be exactly that, complete with carving stations, dozens of appetizers, and a display of decadent desserts. The restaurant will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. on December 25, and dinner is $49.95 per person and $19.95 for children under 12. Celebrate Christmas in style this year with NYY Steak at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. The restaurant will be open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, holding regular business hours and serving a number of specialty dishes as well as its regular menu. That makes Christmas the perfect time to sample some of NYY Steak's new menu items, like signature thick-cut bacon, jumbo lump blue crab cakes, bacon-wrapped shrimp, pan-seared scallops, and a steak tartare. From the seafood bar, additions include a chilled colossal shrimp cocktail, osetrea caviar, and a seafood tower for two featuring Alaskan king crab, Maine lobster, colossal shrimp, ceviche, and oysters. As for meat, you'll find two additional chops, each dry-aged for three weeks in the on-premises butcher shop: a Colorado lamb chop with mint chimichurri and a kurobota pork chop with applejack demi-glace. As for the NYY Steak specialties, the standout addition is a beef short-rib ragout with cheddar mac and cheese and a horseradish crust. The new additions were curated by NYY steak chef Alberto Pacheco, who also creates daily specials along with menus for special events. NYY Steak is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.

Here's something different for Christmas Eve dinner: fondue. If that's your type of thing, the new Little Chalet Steak and Fondue Haus in Boca Raton is the spot for you. Since 1979, the Little Chalet has been serving a menu of Swiss fondues, steaks, and traditional European cuisine — now with a South Florida location. This holiday season, the restaurant is offering an extra-special treat, served all month long: a holiday dessert fondue accompanied by a basket of assorted Bauducco panettones, a traditional Italian Christmas cake. Visit the restaurant on Christmas Eve and you'll get this, as well as the option of ordering from a four-course, prix-fixe menu featuring the restaurant's favorite fondues, both sweet and savory. Begin the meal with a choice of a salad, and move on to a starter cheese fondue like the crème de la crème (aged Gouda, grand cru, and Emmental) or the Quattro Formaggi (Emmental, grand cru, Parmesan, and blue cheese). Next, select from a variety of entrées like the filet mignon, stuffed chicken with catipury cheese, gouda, bacon, and caramelized onions; honey-glazed ham; or the Little Chalet salmon served with a sweet honey glaze over a bed of roasted fennel.

West Palm Beach's Pistache French Bistro will be serving a Christmas Day three-course prix-fixe menu for $59 per person. The restaurant will open at 3 p.m., offering an extensive holiday menu of both classic French and American fare, a meal fit for a memorable Christmas celebration. Gift cards are also available for special holiday purchase rate of 5 percent off $500 cards and 10 percent off $1,000 cards. Appetizers include onion soup gratinée with Gruyere cheese and burgundy escargots in lemon garlic butter, or moules Mariniere in a white wine garlic shallot broth. What's better than Christmas dinner at a restaurant? How about Christmas dinner at a restaurant with a waterfront table on the Intracoastal? This holiday season, Hudson Delray will host a merry "coastal" Christmas on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with a three-course meal prepared by executive chef Paul Niedermann. The dinner includes appetizers like potato gnocchi and blue crab bisque and entrée selections like lemon-crusted mahi, pan-roasted duck breast, or flat-iron steak. End the night on a sweet note with one of Hudson's dessert options including a flourless chocolate cake or an Indian River orange crème brûlée. The prix-fixe menu is priced at $40 per person, available on Christmas Eve from 5 to 9 p.m. and Christmas Day from noon to 8 p.m.

Fort Lauderdale's newly renovated oceanfront restaurant 3030 Ocean is offering a special Christmas Day menu to celebrate the holiday. Priced at $65 per person, the special menu features a prix-fixe, three-course meal that will begin with creamy wild mushroom soup, followed by executive chef Adrienne Grenier's slow-cooked prime rib, complete with celery root and potato gratin, honey-glazed Swank Farms baby carrots, and snap beans in a red wine jus. For dessert, Grenier will serve cranberry-orange cake topped with eggnog ice cream. Diners can also enjoy wine pairings with their Christmas dinner for an additional $20 per person, featuring a Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, Pinot Noir, and a late harvest Mád Cuvée. An à la carte menu will also be available, as well as the regular dinner menu.

This year, start a new holiday tradition at Tanzy Restaurant in Boca Raton: dinner and a movie on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Tanzy will feature a prix-fixe menu that includes a winter squash soup and an herb-crusted prime rib with crispy Yukon gold potato rosti and spicy broccolini in a horseradish butter sauce. And don't forget to leave room for dessert: You can finish with a decadent dark chocolate "Buche de Noel" or Meyer lemon tart, which arrives with a special gift from the chef. The beachfront restaurant at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa, whose namesake pays homage to the Prohibition-era William "Bill" McCoy, will host a holiday feast on Christmas Day from 3 to 7 p.m. featuring dishes prepared with seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients. Selections include an assemblage of salads, meats, and cheeses; a chilled seafood display featuring fresh-shucked oysters and snow crabs; a carving station with beef tenderloin and ham and crab-stuffed flounder imperial; Yukon Gold whipped potatoes; and sausage and sweet potato hash. An array of seasonal desserts will also be served. The menu is $59 for adults and $19 for children ages 6 to 12, excluding tax and gratuity.

Executive chef Larry LaValley is pulling out all his best moves on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, hosting everything from a morning breakfast buffet to a three-course dinner menu. A Merry Christmas Morning Breakfast Buffet (8 to 10:30 a.m.) will be served with a host of options including a seafood station; assorted breads and pastries; omelets; and raspberry and cream cheese-stuffed French toast. Breakfast is $28 for adults and $14 for children under 12. Noon marks the start of a Merry Christmas Day Grand Lunch Buffet (served until 3 p.m.) with stations that include a raw bar, an array of soups and salads, mini cold-and-hot appetizers, a pasta station, a carving station, and a chef’s selection table of seasonal desserts. Brunch is $65 for adults and $18 for children under 12. Last, a three-course Merry Christmas Day Dinner will be served from 5 to 10 p.m. Menu selections will include jumbo shrimp bruschetta with roasted garlic country bread, heirloom tomatoes, olives, and capers; truffle and sunchoke bisque with wild mushroom and lobster relish; pancetta-wrapped beef tenderloin with crispy polenta cake, asparagus, and mushroom ragout; and spinach and goat cheese stuffed chicken with farro risotto and sour cherry jus. Would you eat antelope for Christmas dinner? You can at Market 17. The Fort Lauderdale restaurant will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu available on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for $69 per person, and it includes some pretty inventive, festive fare. Start with a turkey and taleggio sausage served with butternut squash and barley risotto, red-veined sorrel, and a sour-cherry chutney. Or maybe a grassed beef tartare is more your thing, served with a caper parsnip coulis. Pumpkin soup harnesses the flavors of the season with crushed almonds and a spicy crème fraîche. Entrées continue with a grilled filet mignon, cobia, Maine lobster, or free-range turkey breast. Of course, that cast-iron roasted antelope might be more fun, prepared beside a red-beet gratin with roasted pickled grapes and sautéed Swiss chard. Then drink your dessert with a homemade eggnog mixed with bourbon and dark rum, a 20-year-aged port, or a Champagne cocktail made with cognac, cinnamon cranberry syrup, fresh lemon. For people whot don't like dessert, the restaurant is offering a dessert drink instead with a series of after-dinner cocktails, holiday cocktails, and French press coffee service as its third option. One of Fort Lauderdale's most popular Asian restaurants, Coco Asian Bistro, will be offering a three-course prix-fixe holiday menu in addition to its full regular menu. Christmas Eve dinner will be served from 3 to 10:30 p.m. and 4 to 10 p.m. Christmas Day.

End 2015 on a good note at the newly renovated Oceans 234 in Deerfield Beach, which will be serving its full menu (and a boatload of specials) on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Executive chef Victor Franco has given the menu a complete overhaul, but you can still order all the signature Oceans favorites, including the Sex on the Beach sushi roll or lobster mac and cheese topped with an entire Florida lobster tail. Looking for something new? Franco proves his strongest suit is proteins, seafood that's flaky and moist or meats cooked to tender perfection. Other signature dishes include a local snapper and pistachio-crusted mahi. But the new skirt steak, cooked to tender perfection, is the best bet. Oceans 234 holiday hours on Christmas Eve are from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Craving something fast and casual? Desire dining alfresco? You're sure to find something on Las Olas. Looking for a small laid-back place with inventive food, great beer, and friendly service? Now you're limiting your options. Luckily, you don't have to look further than Hot & Soul in Fort Lauderdale, the modern mom-and-pop shop with craft beer, boutique wine, and innovative menu. Since opening in 2013, people have flocked to this husband-and-wife-team eatery. And come Christmas Eve, the Fort Lauderdale establishment is the place to be if you're planning on dining out. Chef-owners Christy Samoy and Michael Hampton will be hosting a special Reveillon Dinner, available starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, through Thursday, December 24. Why so long? The four-course Reveillon dinner is a New Orleans tradition for Christmas Eve, says Samoy, when all the restaurants offer special prix-fixe menus for several days leading up to the holiday, allowing everyone to get a piece of the action. At Hot & Soul, they'll be showcasing their own globally inspired version, starting with an amuse bouche and followed by courses that include a seared duck breast, Creole-style snapper, roast prime rib, and orange cake with chocolate custard.
