Seasons come and seasons go, even down here in South Florida. It's been an odd winter for us, to be sure. After a brief cold snap early on, temperatures have gone tepid and muggy. But it's still winter, believe it or not, and if we're not going to bundle up and sing "Baby, It's Cold Outside," then we might as well head into the air conditioning and eat like it is.
The Brimstone Grill in Pembroke Pines is taking advantage of the new year to make some changes to its menus -- both food and cocktail -- and it's at least a wintry wonderland for your taste buds.
Brimstone has added seven new winter-themed cocktails to its libation lineup:
Passion Fruit - Don Julio Cointreau, Passion Fruit Juice
Harvest Moon - Harvest Vodka, Muddled Red Grapes, Basil, Lemonade
Apple Ginger Martini - Infused Tito's Vodka, Splash of Apple Juice
Warmer Winter - Disaronno, Muddled Orange, Cranberry Juice
Raspberry Lemonade - Nolets Gin, Fresh Muddled Raspberry Lemonade
Kraken Float - Kraken Rum, Root Beer, Topped with Whip Cream and Cherry
Twisted Champagne - St. Germain, B&G Rosé Champagne
Dragon Berry Mojito - Dragon Berry Rum, Mint, Lime, Guarapo
And no worries to regulars, Brimstone's popular Lychee Martini (Grey Goose, fresh lychee puree, apricot brandy) will remain on the menu.
In addition to the new cocktail menu, Brimstone Woodfire Grill has added three new entreés to its delicious Sunday brunch menu.
Frittata Espanola - Eggs, red & green onions, roasted red peppers, tomato, bacon, ham and a cheese medley, baked together in a crock and served with mixed berries and a fresh baguette.
BBQ Pork Hash - Shaved pork, red potatoes, onions, red & green peppers, with chipotle BBQ sauce, garnished with cilantro and served with two eggs sunny-side up.
Steak & Eggs - Marinated skirt steak, grilled to order, served with mint chimichurri, two scrambled eggs and home fried potatoes.
Sunday Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and guests are entertained by live jazz music.
