Friday night, eight South Florida bakeries faced off in the inaugural New Times Cupcake Battle at the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival. (Two had to cancel at the last minute.)

The eight bakeries each had their own niche -- from Skinny Chic's low-fat 60-calorie cupcakes (SO yummy!) to Chaos Bakery's bacon cupcakes to Spiked Bake Shop's alcohol-infused margarita cupcakes. Three official judges rated them for the award of Best Tasting and Best Decorated, and fans got to vote as well, for a special Fan Favorite award.

And the winners are:

Yummy! A Bakery took Best Tasting -- judges loved ther banana flavored cupcake.

Cute as a Cupcake won Best Decorated for their cupcakes with bling.

And Yummy! A Bakery also took home the Fan Favorite Award; they gave out a variety of mini-cupcakes to the crowd, including chocolate/peanut butter.
