partners Dennis Max and Frank Stampone have been bought out by John
Williams, who will be spearheading Damiano with new partners, a new
chef, and a new take on Italian cuisine.
We spoke with Damiano
partner Carlo Vaccarezza, who told us that the restaurant will focus on
southern Italian fare at a good price point, with dishes under $30.
Masiello, formerly of Il Bacio and Prime, has been tapped to head the
open kitchen, which will prominently feature a wood burning oven turning
out thin crust pizzas, fresh fish, chicken, and appetizers. The
restaurant will offer a full bar and extended wine list.
Damiano is scheduled to open on October 2.
