Celebrate the summer Bacchus-style during a 12-week Downtown Summer Wine Series in Boca Raton. From July 17 to October 2, Boca-based foodie event organizer Denise Righetti invites South Florida wine lovers to explore a variety of summer wines from around the globe.

Each week, food and wine lovers will have the opportunity to try three

summer

wines and an assortment of light bites from 6 to 7 p.m. at various restaurants in downtown Boca Raton

($25 per person per event). July's locations include the Rustic Cellar wine bar (July 17), Japanese fusion restaurant, Fusionarie (July 24), and popular Italian restaurant Casa D'Angelo (July 31). Summer Wine Series' guests will receive special

incentives to stay for dinner.

The Summer Wine Series is one of many food events organized by

Righetti. In addition to planning the summer wine series, she playfully refers to herself as the CEO, or "Chief Eating Officer," of Denise's Foodie Events, a group that began meeting in 2010.

Righetti's love for the culinary arts runs deep; the food maven has written food reviews for the  Boca Raton Tribune as well as on her food blog, Boca Food Finds. She is also one of the people

responsible for organizing last weekend's Boca Burger Battle.

Her events vary but often are sit-down, family-style dinners, held at both new and well-known Boca restaurants. Dinners range from $25 to $50 and typically include a meal with several courses and, of course, wine. In addition to showcasing

the talent of local chefs and restaurateurs, Righetti prides herself on bringing locals together, describing herself as "very hands-on" to ensure that her guests -- many of them regulars -- enjoy themselves. She has a special food and wine tour of Italy in the works slated for October 2013.

Seats for the Downtown Boca Summer Wine Series can be reserved by calling the restaurants directly. Walk-ins will be accepted on a space-available basis.
