Dine Out Lauderdale Starts Tomorrow
Broward's annual restaurant meal-deal plan, Dine Out Lauderdale , starts tomorrow. The offer is basically the equivalent of Miami Spice and Savor Palm Beach for restaurants between Hallandale Beach and Parkland.
Each restaurant is showcasing a three-course (or in some cases four) prix-fixe meal for just $35. Not every deal is a great one, and some restaurants have restrictions on when you can cash in (i.e., not on weekends, which is B.S. if you ask me). But many places are offering real bargains without any restriction. Thumbs up.
Dine Out runs until November 11. However, Sunny.org usually extends Dine Out each year. We'll keep you posted on that.
We'll also tell you what Dine Out offers we like after the cut.
China Grill has no date or weekend restrictions, unlike many Dine Out restaurants. Its offering is served family style for two to ten people and includes a large selection off their regular menu to choose from.
Da Campo Osteria's Dine Out menu is available Friday and Saturday and includes some of its best menu items, like local snapper marsala and roasted steak with celery root polenta and roasted mushrooms.
Himmarshee Bar & Grill's menu is available all week include Friday and Saturday, but you can't get it during the boat show (October 28 through November 1). Regardless, the restaurant has one of the biggest selections to choose from, with six starters, seven mains, and three desserts.
Johnny V is not available during the boat show or on Fridays or Saturdays. But the menu is four courses and includes some Johnny V favorites.
If you're looking for value, Shula's Steakhouse may be the place to try. Most restaurants offer smaller portions for Dine Out, but Shula's is listing the size of its cuts on its Dine Out menu. That includes an eight-ounce filet and 12-ounce rib eye for the normal Dine Out price.
3030 Ocean usually offers a three-course tasting menu for around $45. The same menu will be $35 throughout Dine Out and will change daily. Exclusions: Fridays and Saturday, plus the Boat Show.
Here's an opportunity to try the new Tokyo Blue on a dime. Its Dine Out menu is broad, with interesting selections like Asian tacos with tuna and jalapeño salsa with avocado yuzu and marinated miso black cod. Unfortunately, Fridays and Saturdays do not apply.
Lola's on Harrison is offering its Dine Out menu on Fridays but not Saturdays. It includes Lola's classics like the Coco-Cola-braised short ribs, ricotta gnocchi, purple potato skins, and chocolate truffle cake.
Cafe Maxx always has a huge Dine Out selection, and this year is no different. Its menu is four courses, with more than a half dozen selections for each course. Double-cut lamb chops, three peppercorn fillet, banana chip-crusted mahi, lobster enchiladas, and more sound like a great Dine Out deal. Saturdays are the only days you can't order it.
