Good news: the weekend is almost here. Bad news: you're going have loosen your belt buckle if you want to take full advantage of all the deliciousness that's in store. That's right. This weekend is going to be big and full of calories and cholesterol. From beer and cheese to chocolate to crab cakes, south Florida has some highly anticipated tasty food events approaching.
5. Beer and Cheese Pairing at Whole Foods
Let's be honest, who doesn't like cheese? Or beer? Well, you're in luck. Friday night, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Whole Foods Boca Raton

to sign up.
4. Second Annual Food: Cuisine, Culture, & Community Symposium
Food: it's an almost universal language. Why not start the day off in a cultured way by learning to explore the most expressive conduit of culture? Saturday starting at 8:30 am, a symposium of food will be held at the Delray Beach Public Library
. Breakfast, workshops, and tasting tables will be featured with local experts in the field of food.
3. Chocolate Extravaganza
Want the chance to scope out some celebrities? Here's your chance. On Saturday, Broward Meals on Wheels Sixth Annual Chocolate Extravaganza

. It is being held at the Fishing Hall of Fame Museum Dania Beach
2. Palm Beach Crab Cook-Off

1. Pumpkin and Pints
Most of us have not carved a pumpkin since we were kids. Well, here's your chance to relive that childhood memory with the help of some fall-flavored beer. Starting Sunday at 7 pm, Tap 42
will be hosting the first annual Pumpkin and Pints on the patio. Pumpkin carving that is. Guests are invited to bring their own pumpkins or to try to buy one at the bar--supplies are limited. Some carving tools will be provided--again limited supply. There will even be a contest for best carved pumpkin; a $100 Tap 42 gift card for first prize and Tap merchandise for second prize.
