This year has seen an influx of new culinary events for Fort Lauderdale. Cheers for Charity was a great success. Now it's almost time for Flavors of Fort Lauderdale. The next four-day culinary event, which kicks off Tuesday, November 8.
The event is meant to showcase the culinary talent and lifestyle of South Florida. Chef Allen Susser will be headlining the event as "the Ambassador of Flavor." And with Chef Allen comes a sustainable seafood focus. The star chef is known for his work with Monterrey Bay Aquarium and other sustainable seafood organizations.

Dine-Around Fort Lauderdale
Late Night Flavors
For those who did not get drunk enough during dinner, there is always the after-party--it's free for Dine-Around participants. It's $49 for individuals who did not attend the dinner. The after dinner party, at Off the Hookah
is being presented by South Florida/ Caribbean Chapter of International Special Events Society. The party runs from 9 to 11pm.
Friday, November 9
Flavors of Fort Lauderdale Launch Party
The official kick-off to the weekend events, the launch party is going to showcase the theme of sustainable seafood. And, well, the integral component to any party--cocktails. This event, located at the pool of the Westin Beach Resort & Spa
, will host VIP guests who will get the chance to sample from Executive Chef David Hackett's tasting menu.
Saturday, November 10
Flavors After Dark
The first event to take place at the Las Olas Marina
will feature the Five Fabulous Female Chefs. The event, which is meant to showcase women in Fort Lauderdale's culinary industry goes from 7 to 10pm. Each participant will conduct a cooking demonstration and will give out samples to audience members. Each dish will be paired with wines from female winemakers. Tickets are $55.
Sunday, November 11
Flavors Grand Tasting
From noon to 4pm, the "Ambassador of Flavor," Chef Allen Susser will lead attendees through culinary demonstrations conducted by hand-picked local chefs. Chef Dean Max of 3030 Ocean
, Chef Ralph Pagano of Ten Palms, and Tony Sindaco of Sea
will be present among others. All chefs will be focusing on sustainable seafood. For $79, ticket-holders get access to the demonstrations, food, and, of course, wine.
