FoodCorps: Now Taking Applications
The FoodCorps motto: Grow for It!
Attention, all service-minded young men and women! A new, yearlong public service program is now taking applications. And... it has to do with food. That's right, FoodCorps is the first national AmeriCorps program using farm-to-school service and school gardens to address some of the nation's biggest public health problems (childhood obesity, anyone?). This means you could be doing anything from strengthening ties between farmers and communities to teaching kids where their food comes (FIELD TRIP!) or even growing food yourself through community gardens.
So, if you are over 18 and have a high school diploma and an interest in good food and growing it, you'll want to find out more about the program by watching this video.
