So the holidays are over, and you've come to one conclusion about the parties your employers threw: They sucked. The most frequent complaints I've heard? (1) cheap booze, and (2) lousy food. I can't do anything to make your bosses loosen the purse strings for top-shelf liquors, but I can help in the eats department. Tell them to call Company Picnic Company (10240 State Rd. 84, Davie, 954-472-7577). Not only will Company Picnic supply fare that ranges from hickory-smoked chicken with corn on the cob to strip steaks and baked potatoes with sour cream, it'll also coordinate entertainment like carnival games and petting zoos. Next season, instead of letting an open bar do the talking, let your managers know: A dish of baked beans and a hayride will motivate you that much more.
