If you've ever thought about taking cooking classes but have been too intimidated to try, now's the time to get over it. Edward List, chef-proprietor of the three-year-old New American restaurant Sprazzo (201 N. Federal Hwy., Jupiter), teaches a class at his establishment every Tuesday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

List or one of his sous chefs guides students through three to four dishes, all of which pertain to a particular theme. Then, just like in Home Ec, the students get to eat their finished products. Unlike Home Ec, however, no one's graded. In fact owing to the class' size (six to eight students), the atmosphere is more like a group of friends getting together and preparing a meal.

If you'd like to be one of those friends, call 561-575-9509 to register (one class costs $25), although the restaurant will welcome you even if you don't register beforehand.
