What to do when a holiday like the Fourth of July falls on hump day? Party like you don't work/don't care on Thursday, or play it safe and let your freak flag fly on the weekend prior? If you prefer the latter, try the Rock N' Roll Beer-B-Que on Saturday or Hot Dog Fest on Sunday. For those with Wednesday free and clear to celebrate the U.S. of A., find a list of Fourth of July activities involving food and drink, after the jump.

Boston's on the Beach Red White and Blues Festival
This six-day, five-stage festival at Boston's on the Beach in Delray Beach kicks off Friday night and continues through the end of Wednesday, July 4, with daily concerts, activities, and food. On the Fourth of July, expect live music throughout the day and a view of the fireworks that will be launched by the City of Delray Beach. Tickets for entry to the festival on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday are for purchase here. There's no admission fee for the activities on Friday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. No outside food or drink permitted, but there will be plenty available to purchase at the festival.

Downtown Lake Worth
Lake Worth will play host to an assortment of old-fashioned Americana activities like a watermelon-eating contest and outdoor barbecues. But the crown jewel is the third annual pie baking contest to be judged outside of 531 East Boutique, 515 Lake Ave. Read more about the festivities here.
