Tonight, local celebrity couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan are doing the red-carpet thing in Hollywood. Yes, our Hollywood.
Cb5, a "seasoned boutique restaurant concept firm," is busting out Bongos with the Estefans, who've done the same in Miami and Orlando.
Since it's a celebrity night, expect nothing less than a Cachao band, on-site cigar rollers, and an assortment of Latin-themed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
It sounds like it's going to be a full-tilt extravaganza:
Taking its inspiration from classic Cuban supper clubs -- which, evidently, are characterized by 7,000-square-foot dining rooms and 5,000-square-foot rooftop lounges -- Bongos is starting out big.
A dual-sided main bar with a stage on top of it extends, like Mr. Rogers' neighborhood trolley, to the outside of the restaurant). A 20-foot window gives diners a gander at a "one-of-a-kind custom-made vertical flame rotisserie." Twin glass elevators can whisk you up to that giant rooftop lounge where private cabanas, bottle service, and an open sky lounge overlook the entire Hard Rock enclave.
Hey, just hope they can make a decent medianoche.
