Mother's Day is an annual event dedicated to your first love--mom. If you're racking your brain trying to come up with something different to do this year, try thinking outside the box.

Whether you want to show your mom the local craft beer culture and introduce her to some fun craft brews or you've already got an unconventional suds loving mama, the scene has more to offer than ever before.

10. The Corner Cafe and Brewery

Consider The Corner Cafe and Brewery for an uber-local place to get some local grub and some beers. Beers are brewed onsite with their 1.5 barrel system. The brewpub serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. If mom is looking for a late Sunday morning breakfast and a brew, The Corner Brewery and Cafe has breakfast plates ranging from $5-10. Pair that plate with their award-winning Gnarly Barley pale ale. They open up at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

9. Big Bear Brewing Company

Down in Broward, there is Big Bear Brewing Company that serves a killer Sunday brunch. Their brunch menu prices range from $9-14, which includes a traditional breakfast ($11) of three scambled eggs, applewood bacon, potato browns or fontina and mascarpone, stone-ground grits and a toast English muffin. Pair that with one of their delicious microbrews like their award-winning IPA.

8. Truffles

These chocolate truffles made by Key Largo Chocolates were infused with Monk in the Trunk certified organic amber ale (5.5 percent ABV). They are available to purchase. Call Key Largo Chocolates at 305-453-6613 for more information.

7. Brewzzi

The Palm Beach brewpub that doubles as an Italian eatery (lthough some may argue it's the other way around), Brewzzi is known for its old world Italian and American comfort cuisine as well as its award-winning German lagers, particularly the Boca Blonde, a traditional Munich Helles Lager (5 percent ABV). Dinner and some beers? It's on.

6. Tequesta Brewery

The next leg of the tour is at Tequesta Brewing Company. It's nothing fancy, just a bar that makes its own delicious brew year round and a place to kick back for a few hours. Have mom try the Der Chancellor (5.3 percent ABV), their style of a Kolsch beer.

5. Tampa Bay Brewing Company Coral Springs Tap House

Maybe your mom lives in Coral Springs and she likes good local beer. In that case, bring her to the Tampa Bay Brewing Company Coral Springs Tap House. When bringing her here, allow mom to try some Old Elephant IPA (6.7 percent ABV).

4. The Mack House

Just a bit further south from Coral Springs is The Mack House in Davie, which has beers on tap straight from the mind of Bobby Gordash, founder of Holy Mackerel Beers. Always tapping new and interesting concoctions, The Mack House's latest tap is the Honey Do This!(8.5 percent ABV), a half mead-half ale style called a braggot that is brewed directly at the bar. The Mack House also has a small tapas-style bites menu with tropical salsa ($5), IPA cheese spread ($6) and ale-glazed meatballs ($8). It's not open on Sundays, but even more reason to party with your mom on a Saturday night.

3. Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery

Another good time is at the Funky Buddha Lounge and Brewery where they not only brew delectable in-house beer, but have a fine selection of hookah. If your mom doesn't smoke, try to convince her that there is nothing wrong with a little moderation in moderation.

2. Organic Brewery

There's nothing that moms like better than dinner and brews with a view. That's where Organic Brewery comes in. On the outside, an unassuming little brewpub on the beach; on the inside, a German bierhouse-style interior with a state-of-the-art brewing system. Aside from the beer that is brewed in-house, they also make their own flavored Schnapps.

1. Due South Brewing Company

Due South Brewing Company is celebrating their one year anniversary this Sunday, which coincides with mom's day. Can you not think of a better reason to take her out? The party starts at 2 p.m. There will be two local food trucks, Friar Tuck's and Lucille's on Wheels, and an extensive draft list of hard-to-find and one-time beers.
