The only thing better than a burger at a new burger joint is a free burger at a new burger joint.
That's the deal at the new CG Burgers + Coal-Fired Pizza (2000 PGA Blvd., 561-275-2185) in Palm Beach Gardens.
On Monday, Jan. 10, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the latest burger emporium from local restaurateur and burgermeister Carmine Giardini will be serving up an expected 1,000 free hamburgers to hungry celebrants. And if that's not enough, the first 500 freeloaders, er. . . diners will also get a preferred customer card with rewards points that can be redeemed at future visits.
This second CG Burgers in PBG is actually a prototype for the soon-to-dramatically-expand chain, which plans to have outlets in Coral Springs, West Kendall, Coral Gables, Pembroke Pines and Fort Lauderdale by summer of this year.
The restaurants' claim to hamburger fame is patties made from all-natural, never-frozen Niman Ranch beef, ground fresh daily on-premises. Sharing the menu with regular ol' burgers are specialty burgers like the Cuban (smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard) and the Napa Valley (goat cheese, arugula and balsamic honey mustard), as well as Kobe beef, bison, lamb, chicken and others.
Also on the menu are sandwiches, wings, pizza (whole and by the slices), sides, shakes and gelato, and beer and wine. You gotta pay for those, though, so don't get greedy.
