Dust off those green tote bags you always forget to bring to Publix -- GreenMarket Pompano Beach is back.
The farmer's market will begin its eighth season on Saturday, October 30, at Flagler Avenue and NE First Street (one block northeast of Dixie Highway and Atlantic Boulevard). The market will be open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Presented by the Pompano Beach Historical Society, the market will have
plenty of vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, juices, baked
goods, seafood, gourmet teas, coffees, and artisan foodstuffs. You'll
also find a floral section with plants and orchids, plus health-food
products, arts, books, and memorabilia.
Opening day kicks off
with a special ceremony at 10:30 a.m., complete with "pepper ribbon"
cutting. Each Saturday through April 30, the market will host art
shows, auto shows, special exhibits, product demos, and more. You'll
also hear live music -- perfect for filling up those totes to.
