As one event (Flavor Palm Beach) winds down this week, South Florida revelers are gearing up for Oktoberfest and other autumnal fun, much of which involves beer in one way or another. After the jump, find a roundup of food- and drink-related events this week in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Hop Week at Tequesta Brewing Co.
Hop heads, this week's for you: Tequesta Brewing Co. is celebrating the annual harvest of the prolific Northwestern hops crop. Five days of events kick off Tuesday with a special IPA brewed with Scottish ale yeast, ten hop additions, and eight different varieties. The week continues with the tapping of special casks and other brews each day through Saturday. Casks will be tapped daily at 3 p.m., though the special IPA will be available on tap by about noon Tuesday.
Beer pairing at BurgerFi in Coral Springs
The BurgerFi in Coral Springs (2716 N. University Dr.) will offer a special $14.97 beer pairing menu from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. The five courses boast creative matches like a veggie burger served with Shipyard Pumpkinhead and kobe beef Texas chili cheese dogs paired with Shiner Oktoberfest. Dessert is a Left Hand Milk Stout float. There are no required start times or reservations for this casual pairing event. Representatives from Brown Distributing will be on hand to talk about the brews and pairing pointers.

The workshop, sponsored by the Transforming Our Community's Health initiative, is free to attend and open to the public. Get more information or RSVP by emailing Sharon@yeago.net.
